Foreign Language Proficiency Level
For programs that teach partially or completely in a foreign language

- Sakarya University Foreign Language Preparatory classes’ education and exam prescripts; are applied.
Students who are placed in programs with compulsory language preparation other than Turkish can take the proficiency exams to be opened before each semester begins. Students who want to take the proficiency exam after the beginning of the semester are given the right to take the exam if the School of Foreign Languages deems it appropriate.
Candidates who will apply to English Language Teaching and English Translation and Interpretation Programs must have one of the following exam results or have studied their secondary education in a country where the foreign language determined as the language of instruction is spoken as their mother tongue in at least the last three years and completed their secondary education in these institutions.
TOEFL IBT: 90 (out of 120 points, valid for 2 years)
PTE Academic: 75 (out of 90 points, valid for 2 years)
IELTS: 6.5 (out of 9 points, valid for 2 years)
Those Exempted from Foreign Language Level Determination and Proficiency Exam:
Those who have completed their secondary education in secondary education institutions in a country where the foreign language determined as the language of instruction is spoken as their mother tongue, at least in the last three years
With Law No. 6569, the preparatory education period has been determined as two years. All preparatory education (Turkish and English / German / Arabic) must be completed within the specified time. Registrations of those who are not successful in preparatory education within these periods are deleted.
